A Virginia Century home is transformed with warmth and care.
Smithfield, VA
Listed as a National Historical Landmark, the home's remodel was completed under strict preservation guidelines. Historically accurate windows were installed throughout the residence. Three original enclosed rooms were opened up on the first floor to create an airy, open concept layout while maintaining the integrity of the original architecture. Original pine flooring was meticulously restored throughout, preserving the warmth and authenticity of the home. Light fixtures were carefully selected to complement the historic character while offering timeless elegance.
This small kitchen makes a large impact. Custom cabinetry, black stainless appliances and brass accents come together for an elegant moment. A white Carrera marble island is centered amongst black soapstone countertops. Functionality is paramount and hidden. An old butler’s pantry, sourced from architectural salvage and repainted, seamlessly integrates into the new broom closet and pantry.
